Two`s Up!!

Welcome back...er...Kohei was it? Sorry yes!! Kohei Kiyama!!
Verdy have really got the bit between the teeth and have signed another forward and another defender. Hopefully bothering the onion bag next season will be Kohei Kiyama (who played 1 game for us back in 2006 (??!!) don`t remember him at all but since leaving us he went to Fagiano and did very well in the JFL bagging 18 goals in 32 games. However once Fagiano were promoted, his stats read a far more sombre 4 in 68 games.......shocking I know. Another "let`s hope he was an attacking midfielder?" Well  I`ll hope he was a defender with 4 in 68....
One for the ladies....Kota Fukatsu!!

Hopefully keeping them out of the Green onion bag will be Kota Fukatsu. Plenty of experience in J2 having served time at Mito and got promotion from the JFL with Gifu. Fukatsu has spent the last two seasons at neighbours Machida FC. Looks like he will be back up for Tsuchiya and Tomisawa. Never seen him in action but looks solid enough as a back up.

  1. What is the point....? More tragic players with dreadful records. Either buy half decent or just stick one of the kids from the youth team in!

  2. Todays two are squad fillers to replace the departed squad fillers. Mori and Kim will be pushing for starting places with Kiyama and Fukatsu more than likely cutting up oranges and polishing boots for the year....I reckon we WILL be seeing more of the likes of Kobayashi, Minami, Abe etc this year than the two brought in today.

  3. Gotta keep things in perspective too, was only a few weeks ago that we were at deaths door and we are still a J2 team with average crowds of under 5,000....the decent players aren`t gonna be beating a path to our door:(!! Our best hope is the juniors can come through again and somebody can catch fire in the front line. 3rd place is still gonna be an enormous challenge. All those 1-0 wins last season could easily have been draws then we`d have been knackered.

  4. Yeah, I realize that but still that's a ridiculous record and although the lad may have done well in our youth and non-league that's besides the point; the only way you improve your squad is buying better than you have so if he's not, and just stick with the kids(which we all know are pretty decent).

I just feel this year is a huge chance to try and nick some fans from Fc Tokyo, play some decent football and while I'd like to get promoted, i don't fancy us getting hammered every game which we will do with this squad in J1, so I'm not too bothered.

If i could have one wish though, would be to move to Komazawa stadium, the ajinomoto's so big it's an embarrassment and it's only a walk from my place...:P
