It`s the Final Countdown!!! We`re leaving Venus and still we sta-and tall!!

The hair is an absolute disgrace in 2011.....but 1987?? Smokin`!!
Joey Tempest... probably the prettiest boy in pretty boy rock with the prettiest hair....and probably the only worldwide smash rock hit renowned for it`s.......erm......keyboard riff...ahem. Still the boufanted wonder probably bagged more birds than I`ve had hot dinners and all this done on the back of a Lion-o from Thundercats "do" , a zebra shirt and a keyboard. Can`t be doing with keyboards. The old rule in my house as a teenage metalhead was "If they have a keyboard player they must be shit". It was true in 1988 and I`m sure it still applies. How can you "rock" on a keyboard? Not possible.
Anyway Tempest The Mulleted 80`s Love God has inspired the opening title of the opening bit of news about the opening games of the season. The Countdown is on...... First up is March 6th........drum roll...... Roasso Kumamoto...same opening opposition as last year, thought his time Away. Lost 2-1 last year with a goal from Goal Machine operating in a ridiculous left back role. First home game is 13th March, Mito Hollyhock have been invited to come and play at our house. Let`s hope we can steal their sweets, break their toys, poke them with a stick and play poo-pickers with them. (Poo pickers is a potentially unsanitary game involving a long stick, dog shit, and a deft flick of the wrist). Reasonably popular in the summer holidays amongst the bored youth of Staffordshire as I recall.
Just had the strangest feeling that I wrote the same introduction before sometime.....or did I dream of Joey Tempest.

  1. Footnik for the first game for me then! Difficult start to the season but we've gotta win these kinds of games if we're gonna have any chance of getting to the 'big time' again.

  2. Ill be watching from my armchair. Roasso were decent last year, them and Tokushima are getting more and more competetive as the seasons go on. They had a superb loan signing with Cullen last season, I`m hoping Ichikawa can pull off the same trick for us.

  3. So do you think that will be it for new players? If so i think we are definitely in a weaker position than at the start of last year. Hopefully some of the lads like the Takagi's can step up and fill the void their older brother has left upfront.

would be nice to get at least one semi-decent striker,

  4. I think we are in a better position than last year, at the beginning of last year we had Hiramoto at left back, Inoue as a lone striker with NO apparent options. Shibasaki and Takagi have gone, Shibasaki has been replaced with Kim or Mori and Takagi (good that he was) didn`t actually play that much. Takagi has been replaced with Ichikawa and hopefully he can do the business. Jury is obviously out on the new guys, but on paper at least I think Kawakatsu did OK. Not spectacular but, he has held on to Kawano, Yoshiaki Takagi (for the moment, though he will leave if we don`t get up this season I would think)and also has young Kobayashi waiting in the wings. He is a player I`m looking forward to seeing next season as he seemed very assured in his substitute appearances. I think we are on a par with ability as last season but have more options to change things round. Promotion will again be a BIG ask but the experiences of last season will only serve the young guys in good stead. Bring `em on!!
ps Yes, I think thats it for new signings.
